Hairstyles and Color go hand in hand.  The shape, shadow, and hightlight points are some of the focus areas we  consider at when it comes to our creativity.
We may not have much time to play at this (as we are most often busy behind the chair)  but when we do we jump at the chance.
Fall, as for many people is a time to get back on track.  We are currently planning our fall education calendar and look forward to sharing that with all.
Mid-Septmber we well be announcing a "new adddition" to our team, and we are also very enthusiastic regarding this growth at thecoolredroom Hair Space.
Oribe
and  Sachajuan Professional Haircare have been greatly recieved by our clients, as they are loving the facts that both companies have been able to produce Parabin free and  extremely low sulphate levels in both their Hair Care and Styling Aids.
Integrity, Quality, and Manageability are at the top of our list when regarding your Hair at our Hair Space.
A huge thanks to all for our continued success!
We are thrilled that this unique boutique style salon has become a favorite to many, and we love it too!

It has been 4 weeks already at the coolredroom Hair Space that we have been enjoying the beautiful Hair Colouring results from our Milkshake colour line.
The Creative permanent colour with natural honey, and milk proteins,  is less toxic and less aggressive to the hair, and as a result, our Clients are walking out the door with beautiful tone on tones, and shiny soft and brilliant colors.
The Milkshake lightening cream has mineral oils for protection, sunflower oil, and Avacado oil, all of which nourish and protect the hair during the lightening process.
What does that mean exactly?  Our Lead Colorist Robbie has been producing amazing results with her foil expertise, and at the same time able to maintain the itegrity of the hair she is working on, leaving it full of elasticity and softness. No more frizzy lightened hair here!
thecoolredroom Hair Space is all about healthy, shiny, beautiful hair, and want to share that with you all!

Our unique Hair Space thecoolredroom  is quickly establishing  itself, as we are now in our fourth week of welcoming clients and "doing up" great looks on their locks.
To quote one client's response in an e-mail sent after her visit... "Congratulations on  a warm and relaxed, funky and fun, creative and caring space."
It feels amazing to  receive such fabulous words and response after months of extremely hard work. thecoolredroom Hair Space was designed with the concept that we are all unique;  Hairstylists, Hair Salons, and most importantly, every Client and every Head of Hair.  So why not design a space that is unique and special with beautiful things surrounding you, the client, so that you feel beautiful and not vulnerable.
We celebrate what we have, and that each individual who visits this Hair Space is part of this creation. Here is a quote a good friend shared with me when thecoolredroom first began ...
When you're that successful, things have a momentum, and at a certain point you can't really tell whether you have created the momentum or it's creating you.
Annie Lennox
We Invite and Thank You all for being part of this Momentum of Creativity, and look forward to evolving and growing with the special people who enter our door.

On March 7th and 8th I attended the International Beauty Show.  What I took in visually was beautiful, naturally tossled hairLayers, bobs, cropped short and editorial looks that had one wanting to put on their best dressed and hit the town.

To stand next to Nick Arrojjo while he created soft razored looks was a privledge, as well as many other top professionals in our craft.
To watch Vivienne MacKinder steal the  show on the Main Stage was brilliant.  Showing hair for street looks, Bohemian, to Couture was complete eye candy.  Having a three hour hands-on workshop on The Art of Razor Cutting with Vivienne and Her Ambassadors the following day was a dream come true.  Her approach to sharing her education and hair experience was  generous and fun.

How can doing hair become any better!!

Tuesday March 2nd, I had the honor of snipping the ponytail of Ali Ruffo, so she could donate it to a great cause...Locks for Love.

WHAT IS LOCKS OF LOVE?

Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. We meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses we provide help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.

Enjoy the photos below of the before and after.  We had so much fun, as I have known Ali for many years.
A little F.Y.I.....
Hair grows on the average 1/2 inch per month,
making that 3 inches in 6 months,
and 6 inches in one year.
The rest of the math is all yours.
How fun are these pics............

On March the 5th to 9th, I will be attending the International Beauty Show in New York City.  This event is an international education experience.  As many clients know, upon my return, I will be sharing this experience with fresh new ideas for spring.  Whether we switch a fine detail in your existing look to keep it fresh, or create a whole new hairstyle, it is a great time for something fun.
I am also very excited to be attending a closed workshop with Vivienne McKinder on the Monday, which will consists of razor and scissor cutting and her fabulous finishing techniques.  As she is one of my biggest Mentors, I am very enthusiastic to have this opportunity.
I will be away from the salon starting Friday March 5th and returning Wednesday March 10th.
Pre-booking is recommended in regards to appointments before and after these dates, as my absence can back up appointment scheduling.  We do have a cancellation list at all times though, if the first option doesn't work for you.
2010 is looking very bright indeed!  Cheers!
